Say cheese! Meet your new personalized cheesecake recipe:

Café Kahlua Cheesecake

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup basbousa (semolina cake) crumbs
  • 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 2 containers (16 oz total) Norman's Kosher Cholov Yisroel Cream Cheese
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup Kahlua coffee liqueur
  • 1 tablespoon espresso powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine basbousa crumbs and melted butter. Press mixture firmly onto the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition and until well blended.
  5. Stir in sour cream and mix well.
  6. Pour the filling onto the crust and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the center is almost set.
  8. Meanwhile, put Kahlua, espresso powder, and heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until it comes to a simmer.
  9. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  10. Once cheesecake is done baking, let it cool for 10 minutes.
  11. Spread Kahlua mixture over the top of the cheesecake.
  12. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  13. Serve chilled and enjoy!
