Creamy Basbousa Cheesecake

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of Basbousa cake mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 containers of Norman's Kosher Cholov Yisroel Cream Cheese (16 oz total)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Prepare the Basbousa cake base according to the package instructions.
  3. Press the cake mixture into the bottom of a greased 8-inch springform pan and set aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and granulated sugar together until smooth.
  5. Add in the eggs, vanilla extract, heavy cream, and salt and mix until well combined.
  6. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake base in the springform pan.
  7. Bake for about 50-55 minutes, or until the cheesecake is set and slightly golden on top.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool down to room temperature.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to let the flavor develop.
  10. Before serving, spread whipped cream on top and garnish as desired.
