Creamy Basbousa Cheesecake
Ingredients:
- 1 package of Basbousa cake mix
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 containers of Norman's Kosher Cholov Yisroel Cream Cheese (16 oz total)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup whipped cream
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Prepare the Basbousa cake base according to the package instructions.
- Press the cake mixture into the bottom of a greased 8-inch springform pan and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and granulated sugar together until smooth.
- Add in the eggs, vanilla extract, heavy cream, and salt and mix until well combined.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake base in the springform pan.
- Bake for about 50-55 minutes, or until the cheesecake is set and slightly golden on top.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool down to room temperature.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to let the flavor develop.
- Before serving, spread whipped cream on top and garnish as desired.
