Oreo Crusted New York Style Cheesecake with Orange & Vanilla Topping

Ingredients:

  • 24 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 32 ounces Norman's Kosher Cholov Yisroel Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 orange, zested and juiced
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla paste or extract
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the crushed Oreos and melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Chill in the freezer while you prepare the filling.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the Norman's Kosher Cholov Yisroel Cream Cheese until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the granulated sugar and flour, and beat until incorporated.
  5. Add the eggs, one at a time, and beat until just combined.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. Pour the mixture over the chilled Oreo crust and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly jiggly.
  9. Let cool to room temperature before refrigerating for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
  10. While the cheesecake is chilling, make the topping. In a small bowl, whisk together the orange zest, orange juice, vanilla paste or extract, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  11. To serve, remove the cheesecake from the springform pan and place on a serving platter. Drizzle the orange and vanilla topping over the top of the cheesecake, and slice to serve.
